Linkd (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is an AI-powered cold email outreach platform built for university students seeking internships. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights around it.

1. What We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Google via Clerk, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We do not store your Google password.

Resume & Preferences

You upload your resume and provide work preferences (target roles, industries, locations) during onboarding. This content is stored and used exclusively to personalize your outreach.

Email Data

We store the emails we draft and send on your behalf, including the recipient address, subject, body, and timestamps. Each email includes a tracking pixel to detect opens.

Usage Data

We collect anonymized usage events (e.g., feature clicks, page views) via PostHog to understand how users interact with the product.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Authenticate your account and maintain your session.
  • Search for relevant companies and decision-makers based on your preferences.
  • Draft and send personalized cold emails on your behalf.
  • Track whether sent emails have been opened.
  • Display your email history and open-rate analytics in your inbox.
  • Improve the product through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your resume or email content to train AI models.

3. Email Tracking

Emails sent through Linkd contain a 1×1 invisible tracking pixel. When the recipient's email client loads the pixel, we record the open event. This is a standard practice in email marketing and outreach tools. Recipients can disable image loading in their email client to prevent tracking.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data, resume, preferences, and email history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Opt out of analytics tracking.

6. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We use Cloudflare's infrastructure for edge security and Clerk for secure authentication. We do not store plaintext passwords. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the “last updated” date at the top. Continued use of Linkd after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
